Expert Lecture on Overcoming Challenges in Mechanical Engineering Studies and Preparing for Final GTU Exams

On September 23, 2024, the Mechanical Engineering Department at Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar, hosted an expert lecture for 68 final-year diploma students from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The session, led by alumna Miss Chaki Anam, focused on addressing academic challenges in mechanical engineering and preparing for the final GTU exams. Organized in association with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), the lecture aimed to equip students with practical strategies to enhance their academic performance and exam readiness.

Miss Chaki outlined key challenges, including the complexity of subjects like thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, time management issues, applying theoretical knowledge practically, and managing exam-related stress. She shared effective strategies such as creating organized study schedules with breaks to prevent burnout, engaging in active learning through group discussions and flashcards, and utilizing resources like textbooks and academic journals. She emphasized practical engagement through workshops and industry visits to reinforce concepts and recommended stress-relief techniques like meditation and exercise for mental well-being. For GTU exam preparation, she advised starting revisions early, practicing with mock tests, forming study groups, compiling organized study materials, and maintaining a positive mindset with motivational rewards. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing students to address concerns and seek tailored advice. The lecture bridged theoretical learning with practical strategies, enhancing students’ confidence and preparedness for their exams. The department expressed gratitude to Miss Chaki and the faculty for their contributions, noting the session’s positive impact on students’ academic and professional development.
