An
SSIP 2.0 Awareness Seminar was organized for the 4th Semester
Electrical Engineering students of Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar
on 1st April 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. R. K. Borsaniya,
the Institute SSIP Cell Coordinator.
The
main objective of the seminar was to create awareness among students
regarding the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0 introduced
by the Government of Gujarat. Mr. Borsaniya delivered a detailed presentation
explaining the vision, mission, salient features, and implementation
strategy of SSIP 2.0.
Key
highlights of the seminar included:
- Introduction to SSIP 2.0 and
its focus on fostering a student-centric innovation ecosystem.
- Details about financial support
available for innovative student ideas (up to ?2.5 lakh per prototype).
- Guidelines on how to submit
proposals, get them screened, and avail funding through the
institute’s SSIP cell.
- Importance of IPR (Intellectual
Property Rights) and mentorship support.
- Success stories of previous student
innovations supported under SSIP.
Students
were also informed about how to participate in the SSIP initiative by
consulting their department coordinators, preparing a project proposal,
and submitting it for screening.
The
seminar proved to be highly informative and motivating for the students,
igniting interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
