On October 16, 2024, the second-year students of the Electrical Department at Government Polytechnic (GP), Jamnagar, embarked on an enriching industrial visit to the Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Jamnagar. Organized to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the visit provided students with firsthand exposure to the operations of a coal-based power plant, including power generation, transmission, and control systems. Guided by experienced engineers, the students explored key components such as turbines, generators, and switchyards, gaining valuable insights into real-world electrical engineering practices. This experience not only reinforced their academic learning but also highlighted the significance of sustainable energy solutions, leaving a lasting impact on their professional development.
