As part of the ongoing SSIP and IIC initiatives, a comprehensive hands-on workshop on PCB Design and Development was organized by the EC Department of Government Polytechnic Jamnagar. Conducted by the Head of Department, Shri Ashutosh M. Bhatt. The workshop spanned two different days—21-22 September 2024. 

On the first day, students were introduced to the theoretical aspects of PCB design. They explored various software tools, learning the processes of component selection, connecting + routing components and finalizing their PCB designs. This session emphasized the importance of accurate design in the initial stages to ensure smooth development.

The second day was a fully hands-on session where students got practical experience in PCB development. They practiced cutting the PCB, applying their designs to copper-clad boards using heat transfer methods such as electric irons + laminators,  development the PCBs using FeCl? etching process & drilling.

The outcome of this workshop provided valuable, practical experience for students, equipping them with the skills to independently design and manufacture custom PCBs, which will be essential as they work on their final-year/SSIP/IIC projects.
