An online seminar on “Innovation, Startups & SSIP 2.0 for Students” was conducted on 19th October 2024 via Microsoft Teams, organized by the SSIP Cell of Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar & State PMU of SSIP 2.0 Jointly. The session attracted wide participation, with 225 students joining from multiple diploma colleges, including Government Polytechnic Jamnagar.

The session was anchored by Shri R. K. Borsaniya, SSIP Coordinator, who welcomed the speaker and all attendees. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the importance of institutional and state-level platforms like SSIP 2.0 in nurturing early-stage student innovators. He also emphasized how startup awareness and innovation-centric thinking are crucial in today's dynamic technical landscape.

The keynote address was delivered by Smt. Janaki Joshi, representative from SSIP 2.0 State Project Management Unit (PMU). She provided detailed insights on:

• The objectives and structure of SSIP 2.0

• Types of support available for student-led innovations and startups

• Processes for idea submission, screening and prototype development

• Success stories of students who benefited from SSIP at diploma and degree levels

Her talk was informative, engaging and focused on guiding students to take their first steps in ideation, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri R. K. Borsaniya, who appreciated the valuable inputs shared by the speaker and encouraged students from all participating institutions to take active advantage of the SSIP ecosystem and Smart Gujarat Hackathon opportunities.
