An awareness programme on 181 ABHAYAM women helpline was arranged under Women Development Cell, Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar with GVK EMRI 181 helpline team members of Jamnagar district, on 2^nd Sept, 2021 for girl students & ladies staff of the institution.

The Government of Gujarat and GVK EMRI co-ordinately provides help to women or girls under any threatening condition by 181 ABHAYAM helpline. To aware especially girl students for this 181 help line, women development cell of the institute arranged this programme. Principal of the institute, Shri. A K Zala   delivered inaugural speech regarding the importance of self protection for women and girls in daily life.

The team member of 181 helpline Ms. Purviben Popat gave introduction about 181 helpline. She also discussed how this helpline gives 24 hours immediate and emergency response to women affected by the violence, both in private and public spaces. She informed that any woman can access 181 “ABHAYAM” helpline for the purpose of information, counselling, guidance, and also for the rescue in various highly threatening situations including domestic violence through dedicated fleet of outreach rescue vans with trained team including police.
